In an ideal, fully decarbonised world, renewable energy generation and circular economy approaches should work with minimal interventions from Government. However, while the energy and low-carbon transition is underway there is a need to incentivise the move to clean, green and sustainable technologies.

 

This report investigates the options for Northern Ireland based on the experience gained in schemes across the UK, Europe and beyond. Expert opinion on what will work in best in a Northern Ireland context given the unique mix of industry and potential renewable energy generation options is included in the review.
